| North Worcestershire celebrates it's 250th Meeting | ||||
On Friday 6th November, saw the Lodge meet for its fifth meeting of the 2009/10 season. There were 12 Brethren of the Lodge in attendance, a guest Tyler and 5 visiting Brothers. This meeting was a very special occasion for the Lodge as it reached its 250th meeting. With the unavoidable absence of the Worshipful Master, the position was filled for the evening by the very capable W.Bro E. C. Kettleborough who showed the Lodge that he was still more than capable of running the show. It was also especially pleasing to see the return of one of the Founder members W.Bro R.W. Hart return as a visitor to mark this special occasion. Although it was a night for celebration, the Lodge still had work to do so W.Bro's Kettleborough and Painter and promptly set about carrying out the Ceremony of Passing for Bro Kevin Dann who was to be being passed to the second Degree. After the ceremony, W.Bro E.C. Kettleborough gave a small presentation about the Lodge to the members and then presented a replacement VSL as our previous one had been misplaced. This was promptly followed by W.Bro A.T. Ball who presented some new working Tools to the Lodge. At the Festive Board, an engraved Whiskey Tumbler that marked this very special occasion was given to all in attendance to mark the occasion. Once again the members of the Lodge dug deep in to their pockets and managed to raise £340 for the Charity appeal. All in all a great evening was had, so..... until our next merry meeting. Our attention is now focused on our annual Ladies to Dinner event in December, this year the event is being held at the Clarendon Suite in Sterling Road. All brethren are encouraged to attend along with their visitors to make the evening as successful as last year. The meal will be of the traditional Festive nature and a Disco to follow will hopefully give a great night. Please look out for further information for this event.
