| And Another New Brother | ||||
On Friday 2nd October, the Lodge met for the fourth meeting of the 2009/10 season. There were 11 Brethren of the Lodge in attendance with 1 very special visiting Brother. Once again the Lodge was in a very fortunate position to be able to have another candidate to be initiated and join the Lodge. After several administration items, Bro Mani was admitted into the Lodge and passed through his ceremony of initiation. Special mention must be made for two people in the ceremony, firstly, the Worshipful Master W.Bro Richard Moore gave gave a near flawless execution of his Masonic ritual. Secondly, to our very special visitor, W.Bro Colin Woodward who very kindly stepped in as Junior Deacon for the night and truley showed us how to do the role properly. At the Festive Board, Brother Mani was welcomed in the traditional North Worcestershire way and had a big fuss made of him. Once again our loving cup was filled, but again not with wine as Mani does not drink alcohol, and again, just like last month, our cocktail was not the best tasting but we drank it anyway. Bro Mani, who seemed to have enjoyed his first night in Freemasonry, gave his thanks to the brethren of the Lodge with a very nice speech. Once again, the brethren of the Lodge dug deep into their pockets and raised £200 for charity. In the raffle, the bottle of Grants Whiskey was won by W.Bro Paul Feetum which he very kindly, and traditionally gave back to the Lodge to re-raffle again. Yet another good night for the Lodge, and a fine welcome for Bro Mani. The next Lodge meeting is in November where we will celebrate the 250th meeting of the Lodge and hopefully see Bro. Kevin pass through his second Degree. Untill our next merry meeting..!
