| Another New Brother | ||||
On Friday 3rd April, the Lodge met for the third meeting of 2009. There were 8 Brethren of the Lodge in attendance with 4 visiting Brethren. The first highlight of this meeting was that the Lodge was once again in the position of being able to give another cheque for £500 to the Assistant Provincial Grand Master which will be put towards the 2011 appeal. The next item on the agenda was to initiate a another new brother into the Lodge. This was the second initiation is as many months at the Lodge so we all have been busy. Once again the ceremony went well and Bro Ditta Allam was welcomed into the Lodge in the traditional manner. What was interesting to see at this initiation was that Bro Kevin, initiated last month was watching intensely trying to understand it all from another perspective. At the Festive Board, just like Bro Kevin last month, Bro Ditta was made a big fuss of and the Brethren of North Worcestershire Lodge No 8180 welcomed him in to the Lodge in the traditional manner except this time, because Bro Ditta does not drink, our 'Loving' Cup was filled with Apple juice, which must be pointed out, was only marginally better than the horrible cocktail we made up last month. Bro Ditta, who had a big smile on his face all night was very quickly re named 'Smiler' seemed to enjoy the occaision. Once again, the brethren of the Lodge dug deep into their pockets and raised £300 for charity. In the raffle, the bottle of Grants Whiskey was won by Bro Kevin which he very kindly or was rail roaded into putting it back into raffle again. Yet another good night for the Lodge, and a fine welcome for Bro Ditta. The next Lodge meeting is in October where we will hopefully see another new Initiate enter the Lodge, meanwhile, the Lodge is planning a small function as an excuse to get together during the Summer so we can keep in touch.l Untill our next merry meeting..!

MORE. 05/12/2009 - Ladies To Dinner A Great Success - The dining room was set out with round tables all dressed for the Festive Season and this really created the right atmosphere....
