| New Worshipful Master Gets Installed | ||||
On Friday 6th February, the Lodge met for the first meeting of 2009. There were 11 Brethren of the Lodge in attendance with 7 visiting Brethren. The first meeting of the year in this Lodge is the meeting when the new Worshipful Master is Installed so after various other items on the agenda, W.Bro R.C. Moore was installed as Master of the Lodge for the term of one year. W.Bro Richard is a very experienced Freemason and his knowledge will be very beneficial to the Junior brethren of the Lodge. The second highlight of the meeting was when Bro Kamran Shaikh proposed in open Lodge, two new candidates for itinitation. At the Festive Board, the new Master was honoured in the usual way with W.Bro E.C. Kettleborough singing the Masters song. The Almoners Raffle collected £67 for a bottle of whiskey which was won by Bro Kamran and very kindly handed back for re-raffling. It should be pointed out that it has become a tradition in this Lodge that if any Lodge member wins the bottle it is usually handed back for re-raffle (the last bottle we had, raised over £1000 for Charity). The charity collection raised a massive £294 which was very greatfully recieved by the Charity Steward who prompty stood up and declared that the Lodge would make the money up to £500 and hand it to the Provincial Secretary at the next meeting to go towards the 2011 Charity Festival. All in all a good night - Untill our next merry meeting..!
