On Friday 4th March 2011, the Lodge met for the second meeting of 2011. Due to several unforeseen commitments and a few other reasons, this meeting only had 9 Brethren of the Lodge in attendance with 3 visiting Brethren. After filling a couple of unoccupied Offices by some of the Brethren and visitors, the Lodge was opened and it got down to business.

For he planned work for this meeting was to pass Brother Manni to the Second Degree. This involved a short Ceremony to which most of the Officers took part.

So after a little bit of admin and a few greeting, the Lodge set to the task in hand. The Worshipful Master conducted the Ceremony and W.Bro. Senior Deacon looked after the candidate.

The ceremony went very well and Bro Manni was passed to the 2nd Degree in the traditional manner.

At the Festive Board, a fine meal was had and Bro Manni was made a big fuss of. W.Bro Senior Warden gave the toast to the Worshiipful Master and W.Bro Ted Kettleborough sang the Masters song. The toast to the visitors was given by W.Bro John Painter.

In the Raffle, the Lodge bottle of Whiskey was won by Bro Brian Tomkinson who in true tradition promptly handed it back to the lodge for re-raffle.

The Charity collection raised a total of £200, an excellent effort for so few people.

Another excellent night where it was quality not quantity that mattered. Congratulations to Bro Manni on his passing to the 2nd Degree, time to prepare for the 3rd Degree coming up shortly.
