On Friday, 3rd December 2010, the Lodge met for the Sixth and final time for the 2010-11 season. For this meeting, the Lodge had special Dispensation to change the meeting venue from its usual place in Stetchford to be at the Clarendon Suites at Stirling Road in Birmingham. Being the Provincial headquarters for Warwickshire, this is a fine establishment laced with fine rooms and much Masonic History, making it a more interesting and suitable venue to host any Ladies event.

Worshipful Master, W.Bro M.C. Cumming, W.Bro E.C. Kettleborough, Bro M.S. Ubhi with wives and friends.
There were 12 Brethren of the Lodge in attendance, a guest Tyler and 5 visiting Brothers.
The meeting was a very quick affair as the main agenda for the evening was what was about to follow once the Lodge had closed. Nevertheless, there was some Lodge admin to do and the important matter of electing the next master of the Lodge for the 2011/12 season.

Brother Senior Warden Kamran, Brother Treasurer Paul with guests and family.
Due to work and personal commitments, the current Senior Warden Bro K. Shaikh, had decided not to pursue the Mastership of the Lodge for the coming year, thus allowing the honour to passed to the current Junior Warden. Bro A.D. Alberti. Bro Alberti was duly voted in as Master Elect, he rose to thank the Brethren of the Lodge for their confidence in him and promised to try to uphold the standard of previous masters of the Lodge.
Auditors were elected for the coming year and the Lodge was very quickly closed.
After the Lodge was closed, everyone moved in to the dining area to join the Ladies. There were 58 people to dine which was fantastic and all the Ladies were very well dressed for the occaision.

W.Bro John Painter and Marion, having the very special duty of taking care of the widowed Ladies of the Lodge.
As in previous years, the dining room was set out with round tables all dressed for the Festive Season and this really created the right atmosphere for the night. A special thank you to Mrs Pat Kettleborough for all her hard work to make this event another success. Once again, the food was fantastic and the Worshipful Master took wine with the catering staff. The toast to the Ladies was given by Bro Andy Alberti and W.Bro E.C. Kettleborough sang the Ladies song.

This Lodge continued in its great generous nature and for the Charity collection, the brethren of the Lodge and guests did not dissapoint and managed to raise the remarkable amount of £???.

W.Bro D.A Hanson, Bro Dann with family and Friends
The Worshipful Master gave all of the ladies a small token gift and flowers to the Festival Secretaries lady Pat and the night finished off with a Disco. All in all, a very successful and fantastic evening.
Our attention is now focused on the Installation of the new Master in February, we have plenty of work to do for next season so our Lodge will continue to prosper.
Until our next merry meeting. |
